How to Add Content To Your Blog.

Adding Content to your Blog. posted by Heartcare 4 life

Hi, If you followed the last page "How to Create A Blog" and everything  went off without a hitch then you've now got a blog, a domain name (URL) and all the necessaries to access thet blog, for example user name and password.
Just to recap your URL is basically the name of your blog : for example http://freeguidetomakingmoney.blogspot.com/

In the last page I explained the difficulties to following instructions  from video's, for example you have to keep flicking from the video to your blog page and back to follow the instructions, that is unless you have a very good memory or you take a lot of notes, the more simple solution is to print out the instructions and follow them from the print out, especially for the less experienced like me.

Ok, Back to Adding Content.
The first simple lesson is Posting (Posting an article, something you've written).
I'd like to just explain something before we continue, quite a lot of websites or blogs will explain how you can go to; for example GoArticle or the like and use the content you find there to post on your Blog, I agree, it's far quicker and far simpler, however as a courtesy to the author I recommend leaving in the link to their Blog or Website thus giving credit to them for their work.
It depends quite a lot on the purpose of your Blog as to what content you add and the reasons.

I prefere to do a little research and write the postings myself thus keeping the content original. Yes, it takes time but so what !!!

In my experience one of my posting I made on GoArticle  has been used quite a number of times, in fact it has also been Translated  into serveral Languages and posted on foreign Sites and Blogs, due to the users leaving in my link just that one article has given me a very high rating in Google in a very short time.

Ok, Let's continue.
If you followed the instructions in the last page (How to Create a Blog) your Blog should now be located in your favourites Menu.

Click on your favourites menu, locate your Blog and open it, this will open it in a new window.

The new window will open the Blogger page, towards the top right you will see the "sign in area" asking for your email address and password, Type them into the relevant boxes, you also have the option of a small box "remember me?" you can check this box if you want.
This will remember your log in details for your next visit, it saves you typing them in each time you visit your Blog, whether you use it is up to you!!
Click the "sign in" button and this will open your admin page to your Blog.

Near to the top of your screen you will see a dark blue tool bar, click "Customize" this will take you to your dash board page.
The dashboard is where you control what you add or delete from your Blog.

Before we add content I advise you change a few settings and customize your Blog.
Click on the Tab "Settings", on the settings page Fill in the description box,(give a description of the purpose of your Blog), remember to use your Keyword at least once, this will help Search engines find your Blog. Scroll down the page to the bottom and Click "Save Settings" You don't need to change any of the other settings on that page.

Next Click the "Publishing" Tab, where it says "Notify Weblogs" select "yes", this will help notify Weblog searches each time you post an article. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and Click "Save Settings"

Next Click on the "Formatting" Tab, Change "Show" to 1 post on the main page, 7 is the default setting. Next select your time zone, Select the "Show Link Field" and change to "Yes", there's no need to change any other settings on this page so scroll down to the bottom and Click "Save Settings".

Next Select "Archiving" Select the Frequency and change to "Monthly", ensure the "Enable" Post Page" is set to "Yes" Scroll down to the bottom of the page and  Click "Save Settings".

Now you are ready to add your First Post or Article!!!

Click on "Posting".

Type in the title of your post in the "Title Box" for example the title of this post is "How to Add Content to your Blog". Remember I said before, try to use your Keywords in the Title of each post. This is Important, it will help the Search Engine find your Blog.

In the larger White  box, the one below the title you can begin typing your article. During your post you should try and use your key words quite often, (between 3-5 times every 100 words, but don't over do it), once again this will help the Search Engines to recognise the content and decide the theme of your Blog. thus allowing it to put your Blog in the correct listings for search purposes.

The toolbar at the top of the box is similar to that of Microsoft Word, just a more simple version,
you can experiment with it's functions in order to familarize yourself with how it works.

Before you Click the button below "Publish Posts" you can preview how your post will look, if you select the "Preview" link just above the posting box.

When you are happy with your post Click the "Publish Post" Button, this will add the post content to your Blog, Having brought you to the next page just click on "View Blog" Button  and it will open showing how your Blog looks with the new post.

If there's something that your not happy with, click customize, that will bring you back onto the dashboard page select postings, just underneath you will find the "edit post",
Click edit post , select "Edit" and change your posting, Don't forget to Click "Publish Post" or your changes won't have been saved.

It's as Simple as that !!!

In the next part I will try to explain how to add links and also how to submit your Blog in order to help Google find your Blog in a search.

I sincerely hope you have found this post useful and informative, once again I apologise to the more experienced users if I have insulted your intelligence, however the soul purpose for this posting is to help those without experience or knowledge in these fast moving days of technology.
